The story excerpt that I'm going to do on is Former Formula One World Champion, who drove for Sauber, McLaren and Ferrari in F1, and current Citroen Junior WRC team driver Kimi Raikkonen.
Exerpt: "Raikkonen sat coolly inside the McLaren motorhome, he had just qualified second for the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix. His main championship rival Michael Schumacher has qualified last, only a miracle will stop the “Iceman” from winning his first championship. While Schumacher was busily telling the reporters that Raikkonen has a great chance of ending Schumacher’s dominance to the sport for 3 years, Raikkonen was quietly sitting on the sofa inside the motorhome, thinking about the race tactics. He knew that the Ferrari launch control system is better than that of McLaren, and that Michael Schumacher’s team mate Rubens Barrichello, who will be beside him the next day, will almost surely hold on. However, Schumacher have to be eighth if he finishes in second. No one knew what Raikkonen’s feelings were after the grand prix, but Barrichello was uncatchable on that day, and won by 11 seconds. Now all Raikkonen has to hope is that former team mate Nick Heidfeld to hold on to eighth from Schumacher and he will be world champions. But that was not to be. Schumacher beat Heidfeld by 0.3 seconds. After the race, Schumacher was celebrating with the Ferrari crew in the pit lane. They have an unexpected visitor that was enjoying himself, Kimi Raikkonen."
Weiran, it is an extremely interesting excerpt that you written.
回覆刪除It seems that the two of us have a similar interest, in F1. I really feel sorry for Raikkonen as watching the same driver dominate for years is very boring. Raikkonen had a great chance but he did not use it properly.
I think that you should also include other people's thoughts on this race to make this excerpt more all-rounded.
Hope to read more interesting posts from you in the future.
Well said, Wei ran, Raikkonen had more than a chance to end Schumacher's record, he practically had it sent to him wrapped and tucked, this was a gift from god, a chance to end Schumacher's domination, but he didn't use it properely.
回覆刪除This is really saddening.
